An ongoing journey

It's been an absolute blast to be part of the Zed team. I am undoubtedly confident this is the most experienced and gnarly (in the best sense) team I have ever been part of. Folks from this team have literally created foundational tech that many humans on this planet rely on (e.g., Electron & Tree-sitter to name a few!).

It has also been super challenging to learn a bunch of new things, from a whole new programming language (Rust), to designing for possibly one of the most intricate types of products ever, full of little details and subtle interactions, which is a code editor. A new world of keybindings, dropping frames, native desktop apps, and way more has opened to me, and I am soaking it all up.

Aside from the many PRs sent to the repository every day, I'm proud that in just a little bit more than a year, I've already shipped a collection of very relevant things. From maintaining the zed.dev site to a bunch of feature releases within Zed itself, here are some of the projects I've been part of thus far:

Way more to come

Still very involved with Zed and more than excited to see what the future holds for this product and team. I feel like it is a very well-positioned product at this moment where AI has found in software development one of its most practical and deeply impactful use cases. So… yeah, letting it rip!
